What future do you want to give our children?

Is the future we envision matching reality?

Prelude to a Thought:

Think about this statement: "You and Your Environment Are One". 

Think about it from a micro-cellular level to a macro of the Universe and everything that surrounds you on a day to day basis.  If we look around us, it is no wonder things are out of balance – from our bodies, homes, schools, neighborhoods, Cities, States, Countries and the whole planet.   There is no doubt we are in the middle of a great change as a race and a world.  Yes, everything is changing and moving faster.  The whole planet has increased its pulse rate.  Change is ok and often is a good way to cleanse things to gain a fresh approach.

The problem lies here. 

We have not equipped our children for the future or the past.  For how could we, if we ourselves are immersed within the quagmire we created and don’t see beyond the next moment. We are numb to most everything from love to hate, birth to death.  And, we have taught our children to be the same.

Many people have worked with children and teens teaching and attempting to equip them with the proper tools for survival and success within the world we have created.  Some have been great teachers and mentors helping many find a good path in life. 

Dreams use to be a catalyst for the mind and heart. Many great accomplishments in history have been created because of a dream.  We have forgotten how to dream ourselves and in doing so have not been able to pass the torch of light, and hope to our children.

We, as a society, have failed our children.  We teach that winning is everything.  The paycheck is King.  Fast is best.  More is good.  Bigger is better.  If it hurts -  take a pill and numb your senses.  If your sick, cut it, burn it, or remove it.  If it’s in your way - move it or destroy it.  You are the center of the universe. You are god.  If it feels good -  it must be ok.  Our society has lost morals, respect, history, honor, truth, honesty and a sense for listening from within and without.  Technology is truth, nature is just a thing we see on TV animal shows. 

Theologians and Scientist, past and present, have discussed this in detail for centuries, the time inwhich we are living.  We are in the “latter days”, end times, the time of change etc…  However, we can make a tremendous difference in how these times will change, for better or for worse.  The choice is ours.  Our children’s children will be the ones to judge and live with our response.

The youth of today are dying fast and slow. They are fragmented in mind, body and spirit (as a group and individually) many have lost hope and faith.  Dreams seem to be just a pale translucent illusion vanishing in the mind.
